18"H x 24"W x 1/4"D: Matte Acrylics on Shinaplywood

Each painting represents a beloved person in my life. Using hour-by-hour weather data on the date of their birth
with temperatures from a location where the person was born and/or has a strong identity.
This portrait reflects temperatures recorded over 64 years up to 2024.
Each day of each year is represented by a vertical stripe divided into 24 rectangles (3/4” x 3/8”) for each hour in the day.
Each rectangle correlates to a color representing the temperature recorded during that hour.
This is an exploration into the personality of color.
Using color and pattern to express both ideas and emotions, a concept that has been engaging me for over a decade.
